In order to successfully install Africa Theme, please follow the next procedure.
Pay attention to the Africa_WP. Inside of this folder you can find folder 01_Africa_Theme. Choose theme zip caller africa.zip. For those who are familiar with the theme installation, installation procedure is the same as for any other theme. For those who do not know how to install the theme, please follow this short installation tutorial.
Installation Procedure
First step is login to your website admin page. Second important step - go to Appearance -> Themes.
You can see all installed themes in your wordpress CMS. To add another one, simply click on the Add New button.
After that, you need to choose Upload Theme button.
Now, click on Choose File button, select the archive of your theme from your local computer and press the Install Now button.
In few seconds, WordPress will upload and extract the theme archive for you. All you need to do next is to press the Activate link under the message for successful theme installation.
After the theme has been installed, there will be notification about to install required plugins for the theme. Click on the link Begin Installation
On the next page select all plugins and select bulk action Install. Then press Apply.
After successfully plugin installation, you need to click on Return To The Required Plugins Installer.
Again, select all plugins and choose bulk action Activate.
Next step is click on button Return to the Dashboard.
Your theme is successfully installed.
In order to import demo you need to follow these steps.

1. Make sure to install WooCommerce plugin first.
2. Go to Appearance->Import Demo Data and click on Import Demo Data and wait for the process to finish. If you receive errors 500 or 404 then make sure that max_execution_time on your server configuration (php.ini) is not set high enough ( it would be best to set it to 0 - zero for unlimited time )
3. Go to Settings->Reading to set home and blog pagelike on the image bellow
4. Go to Settings->Permalinks and set permalinks to Post Name and click Save Changes
This theme comes with the powerull options which you can access from Africa WP.
Keywords - insert special keywords for SEO purposes.
Description - insert description about your activities, profiles, company, etc.
Upload GIF - you can choose your own gif animation.
Choose GIF background color - this is only for gif animation inserted by you, not for default gif.
Choose GIF size - you can choose gif size (from 1 to 100). As is the case in previous example (GIF background color), this is only for GIF animation inserted by you.
Upload LOGO - you can upload your logo here.
Appearance part include options for manipulation with front-end elements. Many elements included into Appearance part, but some elements are not there. Please remember you can use CSS Editor for making stylization for those elements and for any other elements or parts.
Basically, this part involve three stylization types:
- Font type (familly),
- Font color,
- Elements color and background color.
Font type (familly) - you have a choice of more than 550 different font types. Appearance offer the fourth font stylization fields. The first field is for titles and subtitles. The second field is for main content, footer, single page and other page contents. The third field is for Search Result page, Single pages title and pages without attachments. The fourth field is for smaller field like comment info (time), previous and next post button, modal dialog.
Font color - you can choose font color for every important part of the page (content, titles, subtitles, widgets, etc.)
Elements color and background color - you can choose background color for many part. Example: footer, prev-footer part, about author progress bars, etc.
Inside of this section, you have the abillity to type your own CSS code. In that case, basic theme CSS code will be overridden with your CSS. If your code in some cases does not work, please try to type "!important" for some of CSS elements.
Display part involve three types of data:
- Turn on/off page parts,
- Insert content,
- Upload images.
Turn on/off page parts - this part offers the possibility of manipulation with display of page elements. For example, you can show or hide elements like "Big post part, Main post part, About author, Instagram images, Prev-footer, Subscribe part". Also, you can choose display of Big posts (4 options for display).
Insert content - you can insert some description into text fields (subscribe title, subscribe content).
Upload images - upload images and background images (author part bacgkround image, subscribe part background image, subscribe part image).
Also, you have possibility to choose Instagram display options for show specific number of image in Instagram part (8 images, 10 images, 14 images).
Blog options - you can choose option to display pages in different way in your website. There is a lot of combination for display website content. Theme offers 5 display options for "Home page, Author page, Category page, Tags page, Archive Page and Search page". "Single page" has three option for displaying.
At the end of this part, you need to upload image for SEARCH PAGE - search page result.
If you want to display Instagram images from your Instagram profile, you must insert Instagram Access Token.
*Note - if instagram images does not show into your profile, check out one-hour limit. You can reach 5000 visits per hour on live server.
API Key - insert API key to your mailchimp
List ID - insert list ID on which users should subscribe.
Share - turn on/off share part or specific share element.
Insert E-mail - insert contact e-mail address.
Insert Name - insert contact person name.
Insert Website Author Name - insert author name.
Insert Link - insert link to the other website or other address.
Insert Copyrights Description - insert copyright text.
Insert links to social network profiles.
*Note - If you leave some fields empty, social images with empty fields will not be displayed.
This theme offer two type of posts:
- BIG POSTS,
- NORMAL POSTS.
BIG POSTS - specific custom posts for this theme. You can display seven, six, three or one big post(s). Also, you can choose option for turn off whole part of big posts. If you want to do so, follow next steps: Africa WP / Display / Big posts -> Off.
Image under this text represents version with 7 big posts.
NORMAL POSTS - those posts are usual theme posts. Normal posts belong to Main Post Part. Theme offer possibility for turning off Main Post Part. If you want to do so, please do next steps: Africa WP / Display / Main post part -> Off. It's not recommended to turn off Main Post Part.

- Africa Theme involve 4 post formats:
- Standard,
- Gallery,
- Video,
- Image.
You can use Standard format and Image format for posts with or without attachment image.
Please take care about Gallery Format and Video Format. Each gallery post must have "Gallery" Format marked. Also, each Video post must have "Video" format marked.
Activities with google maps are based on Google Map Shortcode. Firstly, you need to create google map with specific place marker. This procedure is explained into part about using google maps ("Using Google Maps"). Then, you need to copy Shortcode from Google Maps WD and paste it into custom post field Google Map Shortcode.
Please follow next steps:
1. Copy Google Map Shortcode from google map shortcode archive,
2. Paste Google Map Shortcode to custom post field.
Big post part referrs to specific custom posts for this theme. If you want to display Big Posts, you need to choose big post position. Choose once of seven offered fields. Every field represents post position. For example, if "First post" is checked, you tell wordpress to mark this post like First Post in Big Post Part. Position of this post is imeediately under Navigation Menu.
Please, follow next steps:
1. Mark "First post" and publish(update) post,
2. Go to your Home page - you can see effect of first Big Post.
At the end of big posts option, you can note field "None". If you want to display Big post like NORMAL (usual) post, please check this field.
1. Mark "None" and update post,
2. Go to Home page - instead of display first big post, you can se normal post.
Second Post and Fifth Post dispose with option for insert background image. When you mark those posts, you can insert background image.
Press button "Add New" and choose image that you want to insert for gallery. FORMAT : "GALLERY" must be chacked.
If you want to display once post image in Home (blog) page and other image in Single page, this is place where you can do it. Choose image for Single page - press button "Add New".
"Featured image" will be displayed in Home (blog) page.
Theme involve two video types. You can upload your own video, or embed video from youtube or vimeo.
1. Upload your video - follow next steps:
- Media / Library -> Select video
- Copy Video URL - position is at the right side of video
- Go to post and paste url into Video Options - "Insert video URL". Then Choose option "Self Hosted".
2. Embed video
- Go to Youtube and Copy video URL from addressbar,
- Return to Post, paste video URL into "Insert Video URL" field and choose option "Embed".
- Procedure for Vimeo is the same like procedure for Yutube videos.
This theme uses plugin for google maps. Note part Google Maps WD. All settings are there.
Please, follow next steps.
Before you start with google maps activities, you need to insert Google Map API.
1. Go to Google Maps WD,
2. Press GET API KEY FOR FREE,
2. Get API Key from google, insert into API Key field and press Save,
- Now, your google maps are ready. Next step is to create Map.
1. Press button "Add New",
2. Insert Google Map Name,
3. Press button "Save",
- Google map with specific name is created. Next step is to create and display location.
1. Open created custom google map
2. Press button "Add marker"
3. Insert Marker Title and Marker Address,
4. Press button "Add Marker",
- Marker is created. Next step is to center marker into middle of map.
1. Zoom Out Map and find Location Marker,
2. Zoom in Google Map with CENTERED Marker. Marker must be in middle of Google Map Window in horizontal and verticall position! - This is very important. If marker is not in middle of the window, it coud not possible to seen marker into front page.,
3. Press button "Save",
- Your google map shortcode is ready.
ABOUT AUTHOR part is closely associated with Users. All information about author and author skills are into Users part.
1. Choose User,
2. Insert Name and Value for progress bars (* if you want to change default names and values),
3. Insert Author Description (* if you want to write small biography about user),
Display author info into ABOUT AUTHOR Part
Everything what you need to do is to checked "Show user into ABOUT AUTHOR section".
If this is unchecked, author will not be displayed into About Authors Part.
If you checked more authors, theme will generate slider with author information.
